Surpassing Beauty - SSO Concert
Kam Ning, as soloist
The month of November will be a happy and exciting one for me, for I will be able to see all my siblings in Singapore and many relatives from different parts of the world.
It is rare for all of us five siblings to meet together as we are staying in different countries. It is sheer happiness for me to be able to see all of them.
Eldest brother, Kee Yong's orchestral works will be performed by the SSO, with his daughter, Kam Ning as soloist. It will be conducted by my ex-student from ACS, Darrell Ang.
I hope my local readers will try to make it a point to attend the concert if time permits. It will be a very enjoyable concert! The following are the details of the
concert.

Ravel's ballet music for Daphnis et Chloé was completed in 1912 as a result of a commission by Sergei Diaghilev; from the score Ravel put together two orchestral suites, the second of which is arguably the more popular. Singaporean violinist Kam Ning, Second Prize winner of the 2001 Queen Elisabeth Competition, presents a selection of Chinese-inspired pieces composed by her father, Singapore's Cultural Medallion recipient Kam Kee Yong.
